Job summary

Altec in Minnesota is seeking a welder to support welding and assembly of aerial device manufacturing. You will prep, weld, and inspect parts.

You will read blueprints and schematics, measure using tape, fit and cut to specifications, and participate in continuous improvement activities.

The position is on-site in Duluth, offers training, safety commitments, and opportunities for advancement within Altec's production system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Welding Tech or Machining Degree currently in process.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Prep and grease aerial booms for assembly.
• Tap holes in metal.
• Fabricate, fit, and cut to meet blueprint standards.
• Perform GMAW and FCAW welding with various equipment.
• Read and interpret schematics and work orders.
• Use hand tools and power tools to finish work.
• Inspect assemblies for spec conformance.
• Maintain daily time records and safety policies.
