Job summary

McNICHOLS in Cerritos, CA is seeking a Welding and Warehouse Supervisor to lead a team of up to 10, coordinate warehouse operations, and ensure safe, efficient production and shipping.

You will mentor staff, manage inventory, work with vendors and customers, and uphold quality standards in a fast-paced, ISO-influenced environment. Welding and/or saw experience preferred; uniform and safety gear provided.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of team lead or supervisory experience.
• Working knowledge of shop math and design drawings; experience with tools.
• Welding experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
• Experience with inventory management software.
• Experience working in ISO or quality-regulated environments preferred.
• Knowledge of general business and management principles.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task.
• High levels of professionalism with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate orders to customer specifications, including cutting and preparing orders for shipment.
• Train and mentor branch staff.
• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
• Manage and sustain excellent communication and viable relationships with McNichols vendors and suppliers.
• Monitor metrics for quality and performance, making improvements as needed.
• Manage maintenance of equipment and machinery.
• Complete cycle counts and manage inventory adjustments.
• Work closely with third party logistics carriers to provide on-time delivery of McNichols product.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Welding and Warehouse Supervisor to join our Hole team. This position will hire, mentor, and train a team of up to 10 employees while also supporting the operations of a metal service center within the McNichols operations organization. This position is responsible for working with the management team to coordinate the productivity, efficiency, and safety of the branch. This is a working supervisor role, both managing the warehouse and using machinery.

Welding and/or saw experience strongly preferred!

• Knowledge of general business and management principles including standard financial metrics and employment practices
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to prioritize, organize and multi task
• High levels of professionalism with strong attention to detail
