Job summary

McNICHOLS in New Brunswick, NJ is seeking a Welder to join our fabrication team. You will perform welding and related metal fabrication tasks on steel, stainless and aluminum parts, following blueprints and tolerances.

The role requires 1–2 years welding experience or equivalent training. We provide uniforms, safety gear, training, and opportunities for career growth in a clean, team‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years welding experience or related technical training.
• Able to read measurements and setups for 1/4" metal.
• Strong teamwork and adherence to quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Weld (GMAW) steel, stainless and aluminum.
• Cut metal using shears, saw, plasma cutter or other equipment.
• Operate power tools including sanders, grinders, etc.
• Operate a forklift, side loader, or crane as needed to move materials.
• Perform shipping and receiving tasks to complete customer order including pulling stock and crating product.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of welding experience or comparable technical training required
• Must be able to setup welding machine and pass welding test for horizontal and vertical (2F/3F) weld on ¼” thick metal
• Ability to read and understand precise measurements
• Ability follow detailed work instructions and maintain high quality standards
• Must be self-motivated to provide quality products and service for our customers
• Must be able to communicate and work well as a team member
