Job summary

Des Moines Area Community College invites applications for an Adjunct Welding Instructor. The position is to start as soon as possible; days and times will be determined. On-site teaching duties will include delivering courses per established competencies and syllabi, while maintaining a safe classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Must meet at least one of the following qualifications.
• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in welding or related area; or possess a bachelor’s in any area if at least 18 welding credits.
• Associate’s degree in welding with at least 3,000 hours of welding experience.
• Welding diploma or training with at least 6,000 hours of welding experience; teaching may count up to 3,000 hours if licensed practitioner.

Responsibilities

• Teaches courses in accordance with competencies and syllabi.
• Fosters a safe and civil learning environment.
• Informs students about requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies.
• Monitors and documents student attendance, progress, and competency attainment.
