Job summary

Commercial Metals Company is seeking candidates with layout and welding experience to fabricate components per customer orders. The role involves operating welding equipment, inspecting pieces, and ensuring conformance to specifications.

A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with two+ years of layout/welding and the ability to read weld symbols and WPS. The company offers training and advancement opportunities.

  • Two plus years of layout and welding experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with production goals.
  • Ability to read weld symbols, pre-qualified weld designations, and Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS).
  • Use of judgment to sequence welds in order to maximize efficiency and minimize weld distortion.

Responsibilities

  • Produce fabricated pieces in line with customer orders and ensure that parts fit within specified parameters via testing and/or quality control checks.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments.
  • Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications
  • Maintain all tools, machines, and supplies in good, safe working order; report issues immediately
