Job summary

Primoris Gas Operations seeks a skilled welder to perform welding tasks across Primoris Services projects in Texas. You will read blueprints, interpret welding procedures, and prepare components using SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW processes.

The role requires safety-first working habits, the ability to travel to multiple project sites, and strong teamwork to ensure quality and timely completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven welding experience in construction, infrastructure, or industrial settings.
• AWS D1.1 and/or D1.5 certifications preferred.
• Proficient in SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW.
• Able to read blueprints/technical drawings and welding symbols.
• Strong safety focus and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding tasks using SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW on steel and other materials.
• Read and interpret blueprints, WPS, and welding symbols.
• Cut and prepare metal components, torch work, grinding, and fit-up as needed.
• Inspect welds for quality, defects, and code compliance (AWS/ASME).
• Operate and maintain welding equipment; follow safety procedures.
• Travel to project sites within Texas and collaborate with project teams.

Job Overview:The Welder will perform various welding tasks on Primoris Services Corporation projects throughout Texas, ensuring structural integrity and adherence to safety standards.Job Responsibilities:*** Perform welding duties using various processes (e.g., SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW) on different materials, primarily steel.* Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding procedure specifications (WPS).* Cut and prepare metal components for welding using various tools, including torches, grinders, and saws.* Inspect welds for quality, defects, and compliance with specifications and industry codes (e.g., AWS, ASME).* Operate and maintain welding equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety.* Follow all company safety procedures and regulations, including wearing appropriate PPE.* Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and other trades to ensure efficient project execution.* Maintain a clean and organized work area.* Troubleshoot welding issues and perform minor repairs on equipment as needed.* Adhere to project schedules and deadlines.Job Qualifications:*** High school diploma or equivalent.* Proven experience as a Welder, preferably in construction, infrastructure, or industrial settings.* Valid welding certifications (e.g., AWS D1.1, D1.5) are highly preferred.* Proficient in various welding techniques, including stick (SMAW), TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), and flux-cored (FCAW).* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.* Strong understanding of welding safety practices and procedures.* Physical ability to lift heavy objects, work in various weather conditions, and stand for extended periods.* Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.* Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.* Willingness to travel to various project sites within Texas.Company Overview:Primoris Gas Operations, which consist of companies such as Q3 Contracting, ARB, Primoris Distribution Services, Snelson and Pipejacking Trenchless, has over 60 years of experience working in the natural gas distribution industry.
