Job summary

Primoris Services Corporation seeks an experienced Welder to perform welding tasks on its projects throughout Texas. You will read blueprints and welding procedures, prepare components, and inspect welds for quality in accordance with AWS and ASME codes.

The role requires proficiency in SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW, a valid driver's license, and the ability to travel to multiple project sites. Safety and teamwork are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven welding experience in construction, infrastructure, or industrial settings.
• AWS D1.1 and/or D1.5 certifications are highly preferred.
• Proficient in SMAW; GTAW; GMAW; FCAW welding methods.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
• Strong safety awareness and PPE adherence.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding duties using SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW on steel and other materials.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding procedures.
• Cut and prepare metal components using torches, grinders, and saws.
• Inspect welds for quality and compliance with AWS/ASME codes.

• Travel to project sites within Texas and adhere to project schedules.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure efficient execution and timely delivery.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and report issues promptly.

Job Overview

The Welder will perform various welding tasks on Primoris Services Corporation projects throughout Texas, ensuring structural integrity and adherence to safety standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform welding duties using various processes (e.g., SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW) on different materials, primarily steel.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding procedure specifications (WPS).
• Cut and prepare metal components for welding using various tools, including torches, grinders, and saws.
• Inspect welds for quality, defects, and compliance with specifications and industry codes (e.g., AWS, ASME).
• Operate and maintain welding equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
• Follow all company safety procedures and regulations, including wearing appropriate PPE.
• Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and other trades to ensure efficient project execution.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Troubleshoot welding issues and perform minor repairs on equipment as needed.
• Adhere to project schedules and deadlines.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Welder, preferably in construction, infrastructure, or industrial settings.
• Valid welding certifications (e.g., AWS D1.1, D1.5) are highly preferred.
• Proficient in various welding techniques, including stick (SMAW), TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), and flux-cored (FCAW).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
• Strong understanding of welding safety practices and procedures.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, work in various weather conditions, and stand for extended periods.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to travel to various project sites within Texas.
