Job summary

Leader Tech is a world leading innovator and manufacturer of EMI shielding products for circuit boards, electronic enclosures, interconnect cables and Thermal solutions based in Tampa, Florida. The Welder will perform welding preparation, welding processes, and weld finishing to manufacture products per customer drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 1 year experience in welding preferred.
• Proven ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual and automated welding units and equipment.
• Repair improperly welded pieces and fill holes.
• Position and clamp work pieces; follow weld requirements from drawings.
• Apply knowledge of filler materials for various steels and aluminum.
• Maintain safety procedures and good housekeeping.

Every detail of the company's one-of-a-kind manufacturing facility is tailor-engineered to streamline and improve customer service, engineering and manufacturing processes.

POSITION SUMMARY:

• The Welder is responsible for various types of welding preparation, welding processes, and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate manual and automated welding units and equipment by depositing metal from electrode to work piece and joins edges of work piece.
• Repair improperly welded pieces and fill holes.
• Position and clamp work pieces together or assemble.
• Interpret of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbols
• Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials
• Working knowledge of fixture and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
• Conventional and precision measuring instruments
• Process inspection, certification, and documentation
• Safety and Housekeeping

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One to three years of experience desired in a manufacturing environment.
• One-year experience in various forms of welding preferred.
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable by management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Works primarily in a climate controlled manufacturing environment with regular exposure to dust, odors, oil, and fumes with moderate noise. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about the facility.
• Sedentary, sitting, walking, occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending, and reaching.
• PPE required may include safety glasses and gloves in designated areas of the facility.
