Job summary

Leader Tech in Tampa, FL is seeking a Welder to join our EMI shielding manufacturing team. The Welder will perform welding preparation, execute welding processes, and finish welds to meet customer drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and weld requirement symbols.
• Experience operating manual and automated welding units with proper filler materials.
• Knowledge of various steel alloys, aluminum, and exotic materials.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual and automated welding units to join edges and deposit metal.
• Repair improperly welded pieces and fill holes.
• Position and clamp work pieces as required and interpret drawings.

Position Summary

• The Welder is responsible for various types of welding preparation, welding processes, and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Operate manual and automated welding units and equipment by depositing metal from electrode to work piece and joins edges of work piece.
• Repair improperly welded pieces and fill holes.
• Position and clamp work pieces together or assemble.
• Interpret of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbols
• Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials
• Working knowledge of fixture and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
• Conventional and precision measuring instruments
• Process inspection, certification, and documentation
• Safety and Housekeeping
