Job summary

Horizontal Wireline Services seeks a Welder’s Helper to join a fast-paced shop team in Irwin, PA. You will assist the lead welder in joining metal parts, filling seams, inspecting equipment, and upholding strict safety protocols.

The position reports to the Shop Manager, with functional support from the Lead Welder. The candidate should have a High School diploma or equivalent, be highly motivated, and capable of lifting up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must be committed to working safely at all times.

• Use of hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls.
• Reach with hands and arms.
• Walk short distances, sometimes over uneven terrain.
• Able to work in changing climate conditions if needed.

Responsibilities

• Use electricity and torches to produce heat and solder together components made from steel, titanium, copper, and other metals.
• Assist the lead welder in welding small components used in the day to day operations.
• Assess equipment, structures, materials, and job specifications for appropriate welding positions and methods.
• Follow established job-site safety and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
• Coordinate and follow direction from Lead Welder for efficient operations.
• Monitor the work environment for hazards and maintain healthy ventilation levels to avoid particle or gas inhalation.
• Operate specialized machinery for industrial welding.
• Take apart and disposes of large metal objects.
• Regular attendance at the worksite is required.
