Role Description

The Welder/Fitter role is a full-time, on-site position located in Addis, LA. This role involves performing welding and fitting tasks on various metal components according to blueprints, drawings, or specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting up and operating welding equipment, measuring and cutting materials, fitting parts accurately, and inspecting completed work to ensure quality and safety standards are met. The role also requires maintaining tools and equipment, following established safety procedures, and collaborating with supervisors and coworkers to meet project deadlines. The Welder/Fitter will work in a shop or field environment where attention to detail and consistent workmanship are essential.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Welding skills, including experience with Arc Welding and general welding practices.
• Candidates should possess TIG Welding and MIG Welding skills for working with different materials and thicknesses.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of Materials used in fabrication, including properties of metals and appropriate welding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications, and to perform accurate measurement and layout.
• Commitment to safety, including adherence to PPE requirements and safe operation of tools and equipment.
• Previous experience as a welder or fitter in an industrial, construction, or fabrication environment preferred.
• Relevant welding certifications or technical training are beneficial.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work in varying environmental conditions as required by the job.
