Job summary

REM is seeking a skilled Fitter/Welder to join our fabrication team. You will fit and manufacture welded assemblies per drafted blueprints and maintain an orderly workstation.

This role requires 2+ years of fit/welder experience, the ability to read blueprints and weld symbols, and a mechanical aptitude. You will contribute to safety and process improvements while supporting other production tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of Fitter/Welder experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Report to Production Superintendent or department lead.
• Participate in safety programs.
• Arrange and tack-weld steel frames and other components for final welding.
• Measure and mark locations per blueprints.
• Lift and position components using cranes, jacks, and shims.
• Verify positions with straightedge, square, calipers.
• Clamp components for welding.
• Remove rough spots with a grinder to fit parts.
• Use arc or gas welding equipment as required.
• Contribute to departmental and team goals.

Fitter/Welder

REM® is looking for a skilled Fitter/Welder to join our fabrication team.

As a Fitter/Welder you will be responsible for fitting and manufacturing welded assemblies per drafted blueprints. Maintaining an orderly workstation, contributing process improvement and safety suggestions, and assisting in other areas of production as required are also part of the position’s responsibilities.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Reporting directly to Production Superintendent, or department lead.
• Actively participates in employee safety and safety program
• Arrange and tack-weld steel frames and other component parts of machinery and equipment in preparation for final welding.
• Measure and mark locations for metal components per blueprints.
• Lift and position components using an electric crane, jacks, and shims as required to safely perform work.
• Verify the position of metal components in assembly, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and rule.
• Clamp metal components to assembly table for welding.
• Remove rough spots from components, using a portable powered grinder, to fit and assemble parts.
• Use arc, gas-shielded arc, or gas welding equipment as required.
• Constructively contribute to departmental and team programs and goals

Compensation and Benefits
