Job summary

SA Recycling in the United States is seeking a Welder (Night Shift) to repair and maintain a metal recycling shredder and related equipment. You will weld steel components, cut and fabricate parts, and perform related tasks from prints and verbal instructions.

Must have high school diploma or GED with 3+ years of MIG, stick, and torch welding; trade school is a plus. Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus, with a strong emphasis on safety and OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain a metal recycling shredder and other industrial equipment.
• Weld various steel components with ARC and MIG welding equipment.
• Cut, trim, fit and fabricate metal components to required dimensions.
• Perform flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, notching of metal and plastic.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed.
• Work from prints, drawings, and verbal instructions.
• Keep a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA standards.

SA Recycling is looking for a capable Welder (Night Shift) who will be responsible for repairing and maintaining a metal recycling shredder and other metal recycling equipment as needed. The welder will be responsible for cutting and joining metals and other materials, using the appropriate equipment.

The welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment; follow all established safety precautions; have the ability to work at heights and with odd angles; have a steady hand and a great attention to detail. Knowledge of different metals and their properties is also highly desired.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF WELDER

• Performs repair and maintenance assignments for a metal recycling shredder and other industrial equipment.
• Welds various steel components with ARC and MIG welding equipment.
• Cut, trim, fit and fabricate metal components to fit specific dimensions.
• Perform related work such as flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, notching of metal and plastic parts.
• Maintains accurate records of all work performed.
• Work from prints, drawings, and verbal instructions.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards.

QUALIFICATIONS OF A WELDER

• High school diploma or GED; graduation from a trade school preferred.
• 3+ years’ experience in welding processes such as MIG, stick, and torch welding on a variety of materials.
• Recycling industry experience preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of welding fabrication tools and techniques.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local job site health and safety rules, regulations and best practices; understanding of potential job hazards.
• Ability to safely work at varying heights, in tight quarters, and varying positions.

• Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
