Job description

The Welder, Level II at Aqua-Chem is responsible for welding/assembling components and subassemblies in accordance with company standards. Working primarily in a manufacturing setting, the successful candidate will work under the direction of a Manufacturing Supervisor.

Schedule: (1st Shift) Monday - Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm (OT may be required on Friday's 6:00am - 2:30pm)

Location: Onsite; Knoxville, TN

Pay Range: $22.00 - $27.00/hr Dependent on Experience

Essential Duties:

  • Operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently
  • Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned space
  • Comprehend and follow ISO procedures to ensure compliance with standards
  • Ability to set up and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as MIG and TIG welding equipment
  • Move materials and/or finished products to facilitate proper flow
  • Demonstrate ability to meet production standards on specific assignments within required time
  • Perform rigging, lifting, and moving of product using cranes, forklifts, metal carts, etc.
  • Assist in training Welder I positions
  • Ability to perform daily job tasks with little to no supervision
  • Ability to read weldment drawings with little to no guidance
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement program
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

Education/Experience:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Must be able to work up to 12 hours standing and walking on cement surfaces and will be required to regularly bend, stretch, stoop, squat, climb ladders, and climb stairs
  • Must be able to work in temperature ranges corresponding to the outside ambient temperatures
  • Basic shop math and measurement skills
  • Basic reading and interpretation of blueprints/drawings
  • Able to work overtime as required

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years welding in a manufacturing and/or similar environment
  • 2 - 3 years of MIG and TIG experience
