Main Duties & Responsibilities

Summary

This occupation requires skill and performance in all phases of welding, including GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW. Responsibilities include welding assemblies subject to pressure, structural assemblies, manifold assemblies, and parts of light gauge material (approximately .010 inches and thicker). Must be able to certify in any or all materials as required in the 6-G GTAW process. The role involves manual tasks with moderate physical exertion, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a combination welder is required. Ability to weld ferrous and non-ferrous metals is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Able to perform radiographic quality welding.
  • Able to read blueprints.
  • Able to weld ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
  • Participate in the development of first-run parts and assemblies.
  • Apply welds using any or all available methods or machines.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or directed.
  • Ability to use hand tools.
Qualifications

Experience and Qualifications

  • Weld according to AMS-STD-2219, AMS-STD-1595, and AWS D17.1 standards.
  • Fabricate parts to specified tolerances and dimensions from engineering drawings.
  • Certify to metal groups I, II, III, and IV as per ASME Section IX and AWS D17.1 Class A.
  • Work independently or with others to develop guidelines for welded assemblies.
  • Set welding machine controls to meet AWS D17.1 standards.
  • Willingness to work at assigned jobs inside or outside the welding field.

The pay range for this position is $28.32 - $40.00 per hour.
