Job summary

H-E Parts International seeks a skilled welder to lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components according to blueprints and welding metallurgy knowledge. You will select equipment, plan layouts, and perform welding across multiple positions in a safety-forward environment.

The role emphasizes precision in welding quality, reading engineering drawings, and applying various welding techniques.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb is required.
• Welding, soldering, and brazing skills.
• Two years professional training in a vocational institution, or equivalent journey level experience desired.
• A two-year Associate Degree from a technical/trade school is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies per specifications.
• Tack-weld or weld components and assemblies with welding equipment.
• Cut work pieces using powered saws, hand shears, or chisels.
• Observe and evaluate weld quality via tests and dimensional tolerance checks.
• Inspect grooves, angles, or gaps with micrometers, calipers, and precision tools.
• Grind away rough spots with grinders, files, or scrapers.
• Weld in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Heat and form metal parts with hand tools, torches, or arc welding equipment.
• Ignite torch and adjust valves, amperage, or voltage for desired flame/arc.
• Study drawings to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
• Develop templates and fixtures to hold/align parts.
• Choose equipment and welding method based on metallurgy and geometry.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
