Job summary

Plug Power, Inc. is seeking a Welder II to join our team in the United States. The role focuses on welding and fabrication with strict adherence to welding procedures (WPS) and ASME standards, ensuring high-quality welded products.

The candidate will read blueprints, set up components, and weld in multiple positions using GTAW, GMAW or FCAW. This hourly, non-exempt position requires precision, safety awareness and the ability to pass an on-site welding test.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year welding and fabrication experience.
• Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties.
• Experience using GTAW, GMAW and FCAW welding processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Willingness to pass on-site welding test.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to assemble mechanical structures with a high degree of precision.
• Read blueprints and measurements to plan layout and procedures.
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
• Set up components for welding according to specifications.
• Operate angle grinders to prepare parts for welding.
• Align components using calipers, tape measures, and clamps.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions.
• Ensure welds meet ASME specifications.
