Job summary

Cadrex Manufacturing Solutions is seeking a Welder II to perform manual welding of weldments to defined specifications, workmanship standards and production schedules at our Minnesota facility.

The role requires setting up tools, reading prints, maintaining safety, and contributing to continuous improvement. Preferred AWS MIG certifications and ability to read welding symbols; High School Diploma; onsite schedule Mon-Fri; compensation $25-$32 per hour with full benefits.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year metal manufacturing experience preferred.
  • AWS certifications for MIG welding steel and aluminum preferred.
  • Basic understanding of welding symbols, print tolerances and quality measuring equipment.
  • Meet or exceed company PPM level standards by consistently producing quality work.
  • Weld certifications in two or more welding processes preferred by location.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up tools and equipment for welding jobs.
  • Arrange parts for welding and staging processes.
  • Perform quality inspections per quality documentation and control plan.
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Lead.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety procedures.
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence.
  • Uphold site efficiency standards and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Work independently and cross-train for multiple workstations.

Cadrex is searching for a Welder II to use Manual Welding skills to manufacture weldments to defined specifications, workmanship standards and production schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and set up necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs
  • Arrange parts for welding and staging processes
  • Perform quality inspection/checks per quality documentation/control plan (including documentation of results)
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Lead
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Write simple correspondence
  • Uphold site efficiency standards
  • Learn and demonstrate continuous improvement for Safety and Quality standards and procedures
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Lead
  • Assist in other work areas as assigned
  • Understand welding symbols, print tolerances and quality measuring equipment
  • Work completely independently without supervision
  • Trouble shoot and resolve issues in assigned work center
  • Produce quality work at company standard efficiency level for assigned work center
  • Cross trained in multiple workstations
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years in a metal manufacturing setting preferred
  • Pass AWS certifications for MIG welding steel and aluminum
  • Possess a basic understanding of welding symbols, print tolerances and quality measuring equipment
  • Meet or exceed company PPM level standards by consistently producing quality work
  • Obtain and maintain weld certifications in two or more welding processes specific to employee’s location
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to read and interpret prints and work orders
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

Work Environment
