Job summary

GEA Group in York, PA is seeking a Welder II to join the Production Team. The role focuses on welding complex packages, heat exchangers and vessels to exact specifications, and assembling welded sub assemblies.

You will also install system piping and assist in training less experienced staff. The position requires 3+ years of welding experience, familiarity with pipe welding including 6G qualification and strong math/reading of blueprints.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Certified Vocational Degrees preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years' experience in lieu of vocational degree/certificate in structural / pipe welding.
  • Pipe welding (Ability to qualify in a 6G test for Mig, Pulse and Tig).
  • Basic math skills and blueprint reading.

  • Assembles and welds sub assembly parts; welds internal and external parts; installs water boxes and piping.

GEA Group, located in York, PA, is searching for a Welder II to join our Production Team!

Essential Duties / Responsibilities
Complex Custom Packages, Heat Exchangers and Vessels
  • Performs all operations in the manufacture of custom packages, heat exchangers and vessels to required specifications and budgets.
  • Assembles and welds sub assembly parts
  • Welds internal and external parts
  • Assembles and welds water boxes
  • Sub arc tube sheets
  • Welds tube to tube sheet
  • Installs package components
  • Assembles weld and installs system piping
  • Assist in training less experienced employees
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Standard Vessels and Heat Exchangers
  • Performs all operations in the manufacture of standard separators, receivers, and heat exchangers to required specifications and budgets
  • Assembles, welds, and installs sub assembly parts
  • Welds internal and external parts
  • Installs heads and sub arc
  • Sub arc wrappers
  • Assembles and welds supports, legs and angles
  • Assembles and welds water boxes
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Standard Compressor Packages
  • Performs all operations in the manufacture of standard compressor packages to required specifications and budgets.
  • Assembles and welds sub assembly parts
  • Installs package components
  • Assembles weld and installs system piping
  • Assist in training less experienced employees
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Your Profile / Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Certified Vocational Degrees Preferred
  • Minimum Experience: 3+ years' experience in lieu of vocational degree/certificate in structural / pipe welding
  • Pipe welding (Ability to qualify in a 6G test for Mig, Pulse and Tig)

  • Basic fabrication skills
  • Comprehension of safety rules
  • Sit, stand, reach, walk for periods of time on concrete surface.
  • Ability to lift / carry 50 lbs.
  • Sufficient hand, arm and finger dexterity to operate tools and or machinery.
  • The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $29.00 - $34.36 per hour.
  • GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States.
