Growth opportunities exist across Welder I–III as you demonstrate proficiency and leadership capabilities. The role emphasizes reading blueprints, respecting safety standards, and supporting daily production goals in a hands-on, on-site setting.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree, Welding Certificate, or completion of a technical or trade school program preferred.
  • Alternatively, six months to one year of related welding experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred.
  • Blueprint reading and interpretation experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of welding symbols and welding specifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints, welding diagrams, work orders, and layout specifications.
  • Lay out, position, align, and fit metal components using jigs and fixtures.
  • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Inspect welds for bead size, quality, and adherence to specifications.
  • Operate fabrication equipment and repair metal products.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Welder I

Full-Time Non-Exempt • Onsite-Lewisville, TX

Multiquip is seeking skilled and safety-focused Welders to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will fabricate, assemble, repair, and weld metal components used in the production of high-quality equipment and products. Successful candidates will bring strong welding expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

This position offers multiple skill levels (Welder I, II, and III) based on demonstrated proficiency, production knowledge, and department expertise. Team members will have opportunities to expand their skills, support cross-functional operations, and take on leadership responsibilities as experience grows.

What You’ll Do
Welding & Fabrication
  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding diagrams, work orders, and layout specifications.
  • Select appropriate equipment and determine assembly and welding layouts.
  • Lay out, position, align, and fit metal components using jigs and fixtures.
  • Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld components to prepare for final welding.
  • Perform flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead welding operations.
  • Inspect welds for bead size, quality, and adherence to specifications.
  • Conduct pressure testing to verify weld integrity and fluid retention.
  • Chip, grind, and remove excess weld material, slag, or spatter.
  • Operate fabrication equipment including chop saws, plasma cutters, cutting torches, and belt sanders.
  • Repair metal products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, rebuilding, and reassembling components.
  • Repair cracked, damaged, or worn metal parts by filling, rebuilding, and reinforcing materials.
Equipment Operation & Safety
  • Change welding gas cylinders and welding wire as required.
  • Safely operate forklifts (stand-up and sit-down), power buggies, hoists, and scissor lifts as needed.
  • Follow all company safety protocols and equipment operating procedures.
  • Exercise care when handling machinery, tools, and production equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support daily production schedules and departmental goals.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
Education & Experience
  • Associate’s Degree, Welding Certificate, or completion of a technical or trade school program preferred.

  • Blueprint reading and interpretation experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of welding symbols and welding specifications preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Ability to accurately read tape measures, calipers, and measuring devices.
  • Knowledge of welding processes, fabrication methods, and metalworking techniques.
  • Experience operating hand tools, air-powered tools, hoists, forklifts, and related equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
Certifications
  • Must successfully pass the Multiquip Welder Certification Test within three (3) months of employment.
  • Forklift certification and other equipment certifications may be required based on job responsibilities.

  • Ability to work in manufacturing environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Exposure to welding sparks, fumes, metals, and industrial equipment while following required safety protocols and PPE requirements.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
  • Use of personal protective equipment including welding helmets, gloves, hearing protection, and safety glasses as required
Compensation & Benefits
  • $21.00/hr-$24/hr
  • $2.00 / hour increase upon passing weld certification at 90 days
  • 9 paid holidays
