Job summary

Big Tex Trailers in Mount Pleasant, TX is seeking an entry-level welder under direct supervision to join the manufacturing team. You will weld components for utility, cargo, gooseneck, flatbed and dump trailers, and read blueprints to ensure quality against specifications.

You will learn welding procedures, operate fabrication tools such as plasma cutters and grinders, and assist with inspections, reports, and safety practices in a busy production environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; vocational training preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, welding specs and procedures.
• Ability to read welding measuring devices (square, level, tape).
• Capable of following written and oral instructions.
• Communication with supervision and team members essential.
• Basic math for material calculation and fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding under supervision with quality focus.
• Learn layout, assembly and welding procedures.
• Complete reports on scrap, safety, work orders and inventory.
• Position parts with bolts, clamps, or tack-welding as needed.
• Operate and learn fabrication equipment like plasma cutters and torches.
• Read drawings and ensure welds meet specifications.
• Support safety and environmental standards and assist team.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by supervisor.
