Job summary

Smeal Apparatus, a REV Group brand, seeks an experienced Welder to join our Snyder, NE manufacturing facility. You will perform MIG and TIG welding, read blueprints, and ensure precise fabrication of aluminum and stainless components in a team-oriented environment.

Ideal candidates have experience in welding, are able to read a tape measure, and are committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Drug and background screening are required.

Qualifications

• Preferred 1-year experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Preferred high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure for precise measurements.
• Must read blueprints, engineering drawings and perform shop math to layout, fabricate, and weld various parts and assemblies.
• Must possess knowledge and experience in GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) welding machines.
• Ability to communicate professionally and follow directions.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Successful completion of the drug and background screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding procedures including machine settings, bottles, and necessary fittings.
• Welding aluminum and set up and maintaining welding machine and related components.
• Inspect welds for cracks, burn-through, and weld spatter.
• Welding of aluminum and stainless steel where required.
• Grind and clean areas as needed.
• Stay current in TPM and basic mechanical adjustments on all equipment.
• Follow hazardous waste disposal and fire prevention procedures.
