Job summary

Calgon Carbon | A Kuraray Company in Bloomfield, NM is seeking an entry-level Welder I to support piping systems with welding and fabrication tasks. Under supervision, you will perform tack welding, finish welding using SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW, and help maintain a safe, clean shop.

You will inspect your work for conformance to drawings, operate forklifts and cranes after training, and assist in other areas as needed.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• An AA degree, or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in Welding is preferred.
• 2-3 years of Welding experience is required.
• ASME code welding experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welds vessels and structural components using SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW per CCC procedures.
• Inspects own work to ensure compliance with drawings and weld procedures and makes repairs as needed.
• Operates Fork trucks, jib cranes and overhead crane after training.
• Assists in other areas of the plant as assigned.
