Job summary

Lehigh Heavy Forge Corporation is seeking an Electron Beam Welder to perform welds on assemblies following established procedures. You will set up and tend machines, weld with Electron Beam, Heli-arc and Spot weld, inspect parts, and ensure quality beneath company standards.

You will review orders, interpret blueprints, and adjust controls to meet strength and leak-test requirements while maintaining weld schedules and safety protocols in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Technical degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review work orders to ensure understanding of job requirements.
• Follow technical instructions, interpret engineering blueprints and technical terms.
• Operate machines utilizing proper procedures for optimum weld quality.
• Perform welding using Heli-arc, Spot weld, and Electron Beam equipment.
• Inspect parts to ensure weld quality and adherence to standards.
• Set up and adjust controls to meet strength, leak test, pressure and penetration requirements.
• Leak test welded parts as required by routing.
• Record weld results and maintain schedules/fixtures.
• Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations.

Job Summary

Perform Electron beam welding on assemblies following procedures; able to set up and tend machines designed to weld through the use of a high-velocity electron beam.

Reporting To

Department Manager/Supervisor

Essential Job Functions

• Review work orders to ensure familiarization with job requirements.
• Follow technical instructions, interpret engineering blueprints and technical terms.
• Operate machine(s) utilizing proper procedures for optimum weld quality.
• Perform welding using Heli-arc, Spot weld, and Electron Beam equipment.
• Inspect parts continuously to ensure that the welding process is performed in a manner consistent with company standards of quantity and quality.
• Perform set-ups, adjust control settings to meet strength, leak test, pressure and penetration requirements for a wide variety of assembly types and materials.
• Leak test welded parts at each operation as required by routing.
• Record weld results and distribute daily report.
• Maintain file of weld schedules and fixtures in good order in weld room.
• Perform cross-sectioning of parts where required.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment in the weld room as required.

Salary Range

$28.00 - $35.00/Hour, Depending on Experience.
