ASRC Federal Advanced Research in Warren, Michigan, is seeking a Welder I to support the US ARMY Ground Vehicle Systems Center. You will assist engineers in designing, fabricating, and prototyping vehicle structures and armor components from sketches to production drawings.

You will perform welding (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW) on ferrous and non‑ferrous metals, cut with oxy/acetylene and plasma, and work from 1/8 inch to thick sections.

Formación

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and a 2-year technical certificate or apprenticeship leading to Journeyman status.
• Minimum of 3 years related welding/fabrication experience in vehicle structures or similar.
• Must be a US citizen and pass a US Government background check.
• Willingness to stand for long periods and lift up to 45 lbs.
• Compliance with safety, regulatory and ISO 14001 environmental standards.

Responsabilidades

• Weld and fabricate vehicle hull structures, armor cabs, and mountings per drawings.
• Perform welding across ferrous and non-ferrous materials using GMAW, GTAW, and SMAW.
• Use cutting processes (oxy/acetylene, plasma, carbon gouging) and build joints in various orientations.
• Ensure conformance with engineering drawings, specs, and standards; support reverse engineering when needed.
