Overview

Derecktor is looking for an experienced welder/fabricator to join our team. Candidates must be able to perform layout, fabrication and welding of piping systems. They should also be able to assemble, install, repair, and maintain marine hydraulic plumbing, pipe systems and structural components. For this position, you must have the ability to read and understand blueprints, select proper materials, equipment and tools to complete projects. Derecktor is known for quality repairs, refits and fabrication as well as new construction divisions. You will work in a dynamic environment and collaborate with a team of professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality projects.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to perform the following welding processes to an International Class Standard in 3G(plate), 4G(plate) and 6G(pipe) positions
• SMAW/Steel
• FCAW/Steel
• GMAW/Aluminum & Steel
• GTAW/ Aluminum & Steel
• Will read and understand drawings and weld symbols
• Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards to ensure a safe working environment
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine welding specifications
• Prepare and clean surfaces prior to welding to ensure proper adhesion and strength
• Lay out, fabricate, and assemble structural vessel components

Qualifications

• Must have experience in aluminum welding
• Pass an internal welding test
• Be skilled in the fabrication and repair of equipment, fixtures and structures
• Preferred – experience working in a shipyard/ship repair environment
• Preferred – OSHA Safety Training
• Ability to read and understand drawings and weld symbols
