Job summary

Framatome is seeking a skilled welder to read drawings, set up tooling, and perform MIG/TIG/Stick and aluminum welding. The role includes maintaining identity/traceability of welds and wire, working under senior welders, and complying with safety rules. Potential travel to nuclear sites may be required.

The candidate should have at least 2 years of welding-related experience, read blueprints, and demonstrate teamwork and strong safety awareness. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Knowledge of welding processes including MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-core, and aluminum welding.
  • Basic communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand drawings.
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-core welding and Aluminum Welding.
  • Receive, store and maintain identity/traceability of weld and weld wire.
  • Set up tooling and fixtures to ensure an acceptable product.
  • Comply with plant work rules and instructions.
  • Maintain clean work area and assist in maintenance.
  • Perform shop fabrication tasks and welding under supervision.
  • Maintenance/repair at nuclear sites.
  • Handle hazardous materials properly.
  • May travel to nuclear sites.
  • Support other business units as directed.
  • Promote a safe and healthy workplace.

What You’ll Do Day-To-Day
  • Read and understand Drawings.
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-core welding and Aluminum Welding.
  • Learn how to receive and maintain identity of released components.
  • Receive, store and maintain identity/traceability of weld and weld wire.
  • Devise and set up tooling and fixtures as needed to result in an acceptable product by hand or with material handling equipment under the direction of senior welders.
  • Comply with all plant work rules, regulations and specific instructions.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area and assist in performing maintenance of work area.
  • Perform shop fabrication tasks and welding processes under the direction of senior welders.
  • Perform maintenance/repair related activities at nuclear sites.
  • Handle hazardous materials properly.
  • Perform rigging and material handling.
  • May perform other duties as required.
  • May be directed by management to support other business units and may include travel to nuclear sites.
  • Play an active role in creating a safe and healthy workplace and comply with all applicable safety and health rules.
What You’ll Bring
  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of a variety of field concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge with welding and manual brazing operations.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, procedures, etc.
  • Ability to work from process sheets, procedures, standards, travelers, CETL and written and verbal instructions from senior welders.
  • Basic communication skills to comprehend, follow direction and convey detailed technical data.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.
Total Rewards Package
  • Salary: $27.60 - $36.20 per hour, and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
