Job summary

Helion Energy in Everett, WA is seeking a Welder to lead fabrication and welding for custom assemblies supporting fusion generator production. You will work closely with engineers and a Production Supervisor to ensure high-quality builds and on-time delivery at our onsite facility.

The role requires MIG/TIG welding experience, plasma cutting, and familiarity with fab drawings. Join a team that values urgency, rigor, ownership, and safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of multiple welding rods, fluxes, and metals used in the fabrication process.
• Understanding of occupational safety practices and welding trade procedures.
• Experience operating MIG/TIG welders, plasma cutters, oxyacetylene torches, and related tools.
• Ability to calculate mathematical problems for measurements and quantities.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings.
• Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds and perform tasks such as standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Lead welding and fabrication projects to manufacture custom assemblies supporting Helion generator production.
• Support decision making by partnering with engineers and Production Supervisors.
• Work directly with Design Engineering to provide DFM feedback that supports rapid manufacturing of parts and assemblies.
• Perform welding and fabrication to build and repair custom components using plasma cutters, MIG/TIG/arc welders, and oxyacetylene torches.
• Cut, join, and shape metal parts to meet product specifications and unique fabrication needs.
• Interpret and work from engineering assembly and fabrication drawings.
• Operate saws, grinders, drill presses, and other power and hand tools for equipment fabrication.
• Move materials or supplies using forklifts and cranes to support production and modifications.
• Follow detailed instructions to fabricate or repair requested equipment.
• Communicate effectively with shop personnel regarding design and fabrication requirements.
• Ensure safe working conditions by wearing required PPE when necessary.
