Job summary

Helion in Everett, WA is hiring a Welder to build and repair custom components for our fusion generator production. You will fabricate parts, modify designs with engineers, and ensure safety and quality on the shop floor.

You will use plasma cutters, MIG/TIG welders, oxyacetylene torches, and other tools to meet precise specifications while following drawings. This onsite role requires physical effort and strict adherence to PPE and safety rules.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of welding rods, fluxes and metals.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Experience with MIG/TIG welding and related tools.
• Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Lead welding and fabrication projects to manufacture custom assemblies supporting Helion generator production
• Support decision making by partnering with engineers and Production Supervisor(s)
• Work directly with Design Engineering to provide DFM feedback that supports rapid manufacturing
• Perform welding and fabrication to build and repair custom components using tools such as plasma cutters, MIG/TIG/arc welders, and oxyacetylene torches
• Cut, join, and shape metal parts to meet product specifications and unique fabrication needs
• Interpret and work from engineering assembly and fabrication drawings
• Operate saws, grinders, drill presses, and other power and hand tools
• Move materials or supplies using forklifts and cranes to support production and modifications
• Follow detailed instructions to fabricate or repair requested equipment
• Communicate effectively with shop personnel regarding design and fabrication requirements
• Ensure safe working conditions by wearing PPE
