Job summary

Taylor Sudden Service seeks a welder fitter to join the Philadelphia, MS team. You will weld and fit new and used assemblies and repair steel parts, reading blueprints and preparing burn nests with the proper machine settings. Maintain equipment and comply with OSHA/EPA standards.

A high school diploma or GED is required, and you must pass fitter and welding tests after a 30‑day training period.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalency.
Must pass fitter test after 30 day training period to continue employment.
Must be able to pass welding test and have welding skills in layout and sheet metal fabrication.
Must understand blueprints, drawings, schematics and manuals as they relate to welding.
Must be able to produce jigs, templates and tools to increase efficiency.

Responsibilities

Function as a welder fitter on new and used assemblies and repair of steel parts.
Work as a member of the welding group to meet workloads and quality standards.
Secure job assignments and follow instruction for diverse work and facilities.
Call down the Burn Nest Program and operate the burning machine control correctly.
Lays out, tacks and welds weldments using hand and semi-automatic equipment; set voltages/amperage for material thickness.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area and perform routine maintenance.
