Job summary

Taylor Defense Products in Mississippi is seeking a dependable welder/fitter to work on new assemblies and repair steel components. The role requires reading blueprints, setting welding parameters, and maintaining a clean, safe work area while following OSHA/EPA guidelines.

Ideal candidates will pass welding tests, demonstrate layout and sheet metal fabrication skills, and be able to operate a forklift and rig heavy equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalency required.
• Must pass welding and fit test.
• Must have welding skills in layout and sheet metal fabrication.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, schematics and manuals related to welding.
• Ability to produce jigs, templates and tools to increase efficiency.
• Must be able to operate a forklift and perform basic mechanical tasks.
• Ability to rig heavy equipment for lifting installation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Function as a welder/fitter on new assemblies and repairs of steel parts.
• Operate welding equipment and set voltages/amperage for material thickness.
• Maintain clean, orderly work area and perform routine maintenance.
• Follow OSHA and EPA procedures to ensure safety and compliance.
• Observe burning machine operation and perform necessary repairs/adjustments.
• Contribute to productivity by meeting workload expectations in welding group.
