Job summary

TOPS Staffing is hiring a Welder/Fitter/Fabricator for a manufacturing facility. This is a great opportunity for someone with welding and steel fabrication experience who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in producing quality work.

Pay starts at $23.18/hour; Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM; Optional overtime on Saturdays. Benefits after direct hire include medical, dental, vision, PTO, 401(k) and more.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of welding/fabrication experience.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints.
• Experience fitting and laying out steel.
• Comfortable using plasma cutters and cutting torches.
• Ability to read a tape measure and lift up to ~75 lbs.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Layout, fit, and fabricate steel structures using blueprints and drawings.
• Work as part of fabrication crew.
• Perform approximately 95% MIG welding and 5% Stick welding.
• Weld steel joints and seams using .035 wire and Lincoln equipment.
• Work with 10-gauge plate, 1/4" tube steel, steel angle; limited stainless/galvanized.
• Use plasma cutters and oxy-fuel torches for cutting and preparation.
• Measure and lay out materials accurately with a tape measure.
• Inspect work for quality and proper fit; maintain a clean, safe workspace.

What You'll Do

• Layout, fit, and fabricate steel structures using blueprints and drawings
  
• Work as part of fabrication crew
  
• Perform approximately 95% MIG welding and 5% Stick welding
  
• Weld steel joints and seams using .035 wire and Lincoln welding equipment
  
• Work with 10-gauge plate, ¼" tube steel, steel angle, and limited stainless and galvanized metals
  
• Use plasma cutters and oxy-fuel torches for cutting and preparation
  
• Measure and lay out materials accurately using a tape measure
  
• Inspect your work to ensure quality and proper fit
  
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
  

What We're Looking For

• 1–3 years of welding/fabrication experience
  
• Ability to read and follow blueprints
  
• Experience fitting and laying out steel
  
• Comfortable using plasma cutters and cutting torches
  
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure
  
• Ability to lift approximately 75 lbs.
  
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
  
• Must provide basic hand tools
  
• Steel-toed boots, appropriate work clothing, and safety glasses required
  
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
