Job summary

MODULE X SOLUTIONS, a rapidly growing modular manufacturing company based in Shreveport, LA, is seeking an experienced welder to join our night shift. You will read engineering drawings, prepare surfaces, and weld components for modular buildings and solar power skids.

You will operate welding equipment in flat, vertical, and overhead positions, ensure joints meet specifications, and maintain a safe, clean work environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years welding/fitting experience
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints
• Attention to detail and strong manual dexterity

Responsibilities

• Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints and specs to plan welding operations
• Develop templates and models for welding projects using blueprint information
• Position and align parts prior to welding with straight edges and rulers
• Prepare material surfaces for welding and ensure clean joints
• Ignite torches or operate welding equipment across multiple welding processes
• Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions
• Finish welds and cleanup using grinders and brushes

MODULE X SOLUTIONS is a rapidly growing modular manufacturing business that serves marquee corporate and government customers in renewable energy, network infrastructure, battery storage, telecommunications, petrochemical, utility, transportation, and other verticals. We design, engineer, and manufacture products to our customers’ specifications. We are a proud Shreveport-based company working to support our employees and our community.

Hours

Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM. Initial training will be conducted on day shift for approximately 1–2 weeks from 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM. Upon transition to second shift, a $2.00/hour shift differential will be added to the base hourly rate.

JOB SUMMARY

Uses hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components, fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze engineering draws, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
• Develop templates & models for welding projects, using mathematical calculations based on blueprint information.
• Position, align, secure parts & assemblies prior to assembly by using straight edges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
• Prepare al material surfaces to be welded, ensuring there is no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter.
• Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits. Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding & submerged arc welding.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Join pats such as beams &steel reinforcing rods in buildings, bolting and riveting as necessary
• Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter using hand scrapers or power chippers, portable grinders, or arc-cutting equipment. Clean or degrease parts, using wire brushes and portable grinders or chemical baths.

QUALIFICATIONS

Work Experience: 3+ years welding/fitting experience

Education: Highschool diploma/ GED or equivalent

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights. When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used as necessary.
