Job summary

American Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a 1st shift fitter/welder/fabricator to join a team fabricating large industrial equipment. The role focuses on fit up, layout from prints, tack welds, and FCAW/MIG welding on medium to heavy gauge weldments.

Positions are temp-to-hire with pay scales of $26–$29/hour for 1st shift and $27–$30/hour plus shift premium for 2nd shift, based on experience. Cranes and lifts are used in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years fit up and welding experience in heavy equipment fabrication.
• Experience building rock crushers, road pavers, silos, bins and hoppers.
• Blueprint reading required for fitter positions; set up from prints.

Responsibilities

• Set up from prints, fit up and tack weld medium to heavy gauge weldments.
• Layout parts, align components, and perform welds per specifications.
• Operate cranes and lifts to handle large assemblies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Company needs 1st shift set up welder/ fitter / fabricator. 1st shift Fitter-$26-$29/hour 2nd shift Welder / Fitter pays $27-$30 plus shift premium Fitter A would lay out, fabricated fit up and tack weld. Excellent, long term position (temp-to-hire) for experienced fitter welder. Medium to heavy plate steel welding. Set up from prints, medium to heavy gauge weldments, open table .052 and 3/32 flux core and metalcore FCAW welding. Large industrial equipment and machinery experienced fitter welder fabricator. $26-$28/hour ****

OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 3-5 years fit up and welding / building rock crushers, road pavers, silos, bins and hoppers, crushing and screening systems, large conveyors and heavy material handling equipment. Direct industry experience. Blueprint reading required for the fitter position. Pay dependent on experience.
