Position Summary

The primary role of this position is to perform fitting and welding using FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW processes in the fabrication, assembly, repair, and maintenance of structures, subsea hardware, and other components manufactured by Global Machine Shop.

Location

Requires daily onsite attendance; this is not a remote-work position.

Responsibilities

1. Lay out, position, align, and fit components according to engineering drawings or schematics.
2. Bolt, clamp, and tack weld parts to secure in position for welding.
3. Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding.
4. Set up equipment and perform welding using FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW processes.
5. Perform welding in accordance with approved welding procedures.
6. Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
7. Handle both ferrous and non-ferrous materials.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum five (5) years experience fitting and welding with FCAW and GMAW processes on carbon and stainless steels.
• Minimum two (2) years experience fitting and welding with GTAW process on carbon and stainless steels.
• Ability to pass AWS D1.1 and D1.6 welder performance qualifications in all positions on plate and pipe.
• Basic computer skills with Microsoft 365 or similar software.

Desired

• Previous welder performance qualifications to industry codes.
• Experience with alloy steel welding (e.g., 4130).
• Experience with aluminum welding using GTAW process.
• Familiarity with subsea hardware and structures.
