Job description

Welder / Fitter

Location: Houston, TX 77032

Pay Rate: $22/hr to $24/hr DOE

Schedule: 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday

We are seeking a dedicated and professional individual to perform assembly and welding operations of fabricated metal products. The candidate should be able to work well both independently and as part of a team, possess good communication skills, maintain a positive attitude, and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings related to welding; complete routine reports.
  • Calculate areas, circumferences, and volumes; apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
  • Operate multiple hydraulic and electric drive bending machines, as well as manual machines and hand tools such as drills, files, grinders, hammers, pliers, and screwdrivers.
  • Use measuring tools including tape measures, calipers, and squares.
  • Set up and weld parts following established procedures.
  • Operate plant equipment such as forklifts, cutting torches, jib cranes, gantry, and overhead cranes (including radio-controlled).
  • Interpret specifications from cut sheets and production orders to determine material types, sizes, and tolerances.
  • Work with various materials including raw pipe, bar stock, flanges, flat bars, and sheet metal.
  • Potentially relocate temporarily to the Italian Headquarters for training with different departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma; welding school or technical courses preferred.
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience, including TIG and MIG welding.
  • Valid proof of eligibility to work in the USA.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Open to travel within the USA and internationally.
Physical Demands:
  • Regularly stand, use hands, reach, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and occasionally climb.
  • Occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs and push/pull with a maximum force of 200 ft-lb.
