Job description

Job Description: Welder

1. Must have experience with stainless steel and flux-cored arc welding (FCAW).
2. Successfully pass a bend test in the 3G and 4G positions.
3. Primarily responsible for using electrical currents to fuse metals like steel together to repair parts or build new components.
4. Climb stairs and/or vertical ladders of varying heights.
5. Work in confined areas and/or elevated heights.
6. Must have or be eligible for a TWIC card.
7. Prepare barge and boat repair areas, internal compartments, cargo tanks, and external surface areas for welding, including grinding and cleaning.
8. Perform welding in various areas with the required number of passes to achieve full penetration welds.
9. Operate welding and grinding equipment, blowers, hoses, etc., to accomplish repair duties.
10. Availability for day or night shifts.

Pay:

$19.00 - $20.00 based on experience

Safety & Environmental Factors:

Adhere to company safety policies to maintain a safe work environment. Work may involve extreme hot or cold conditions, standing for entire shifts, using hands for various tasks, ascending stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, and hearing. Occasionally lift items up to 50 lbs. Must have vision abilities including close, distant, peripheral, depth perception, and focus.
