Job summary

Proteus Steel is seeking a full-time Welder / Steel Fabricator to join our Ridgeland, South Carolina team. You will fabricate and weld structural and miscellaneous steel from shop drawings, and inspect completed work for quality. Travel to project sites and field welding may be required based on schedules.

The ideal candidate has MIG and Stick welding skills, reads shop drawings, and is able to layout and assemble fabricated components with attention to safety and precision.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural or miscellaneous steel fabrication preferred.
• Strong MIG and Stick welding skills.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and weld symbols.
• Ability to lay out, fit, and assemble fabricated steel components.
• Willingness to travel to project sites for field work.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and weld structural and miscellaneous steel components from shop drawings.
• Read and interpret shop drawings and fabrication details.
• Lay out material, measure, cut, drill, weld, and inspect completed work for quality.
• Travel to project sites and perform field welding/installation as needed.
