Apt Power in Lafayette, IN is hiring a Welder/Fabricator to join our fabrication department. You will perform MIG welding on mild steel parts and enclosures, read drawings, lay out assemblies, and help keep production moving in a modern facility.

The role requires reliability, attention to detail, and teamwork. First-shift with overtime potential and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and PTO.

Qualifications

• MIG welding experience required.
• Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
• Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
• Team player who can collaborate with fabrication and production teams.
• Willingness to pass a hands-on MIG weld test.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality MIG welding on mild steel parts, enclosures, frames, and structural components.
• Fit, lay out, and weld assemblies according to drawings and work orders.
• Support the fabrication department with welding needs as they arise.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
• Inspect your own welds for quality and adjust as needed.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and a clean, safe work area.
• Follow safety procedures and collaborate to meet quality and schedule goals.
