Job summary

Qualifications

• Read weld symbols and fit parts from blueprints.
• Use of tape measures and basic math.
• Experience welding with GMAW and flux core.
• Adherence to EHS policies and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Read weld symbols and correctly fit parts from blueprints
• Support team leaders by monitoring and reporting information regarding projects, processes and problems.
• May assist with the estimation process by providing input on processes and labor requirements
• Participate in customer or potential customer visits
• Use of blue prints, tape measure, and mathematical skills
• Inspect part prior to fit and ensure proper alignment
• Ensure orientation of part is correct
• Visually inspect part prior to fitting to ensure proper conformance
• Visually inspect joint for cleanliness and depth
• Fit parts, while keeping within specification
• Weld flat and horizontal GMAW
• Weld flat horizontal and vertical flux core
• Clean part after welding
• Operate overhead crane; Properly inspect rigging equipment and use proper rigging technique
• Complete operator sign-off
• Record job and section in time matrix
• Follow all EHS policies in order to work safely; fully engage in behavioral based safety initiatives
• Support all continuous improvement initiatives
• Other duties as assigned
