Job summary

Russells Technical Products Inc is seeking a skilled Custom Cabinet Welder/Fabricator to perform MIG and TIG welding and fabrication for cabinet components used in custom environmental test chambers.   • Experience using welding equipment, grinders, hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, prints, weld symbols, work orders, and work instructions.
  • Accurately measure, mark, cut, drill, grind, fit, and prepare materials for welding and fabrication.
  • Set up MIG and TIG welding equipment according to material type, thickness, weld requirements, and established procedures.
  • Perform quality MIG and TIG welds on steel, stainless steel, and other materials as required.
  • Follow specified weld locations, sizes, sequences, and requirements shown on engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Adjust welding techniques, settings, travel speed, and heat input to achieve proper weld quality and minimize distortion.
  • Grind, blend, clean, and finish welds as required to meet appearance and dimensional requirements.
  • Inspect completed welds and components for proper size, penetration, appearance, alignment, and defects.
  • Recognize discrepancies between drawings, materials, and actual components and communicate concerns to the Team Lead or appropriate department.
  • Assist with more complex welding and fabrication projects.
  • Performs additional duties as directed.

Description

The Custom Cabinet Welder/Fabricator performs skilled MIG and TIG welding and fabrication of cabinet components used in the construction of custom environmental test chambers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • 1. High school diploma or GED.
  • 2. Two or more years of welding, fabrication, manufacturing, or related experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3. Sheet metal fabrication and cabinet assembly experience.
  • 4. Experience with custom-built equipment or one-of-a-kind products.
  • 5. Environmental test chamber experience.
  • 6. Experience assisting or training less experienced welders.
