Job summary

Capco Crane & Hoist, Inc. in Rowley, MA is seeking a Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. We design and build overhead bridge cranes and lifting equipment for diverse industries across the country, delivering high-quality, precision-fabricated components.

The role focuses on layout, welding (MIG/TIG/Stick), blueprint interpretation, assembly, inspection, and maintenance. Safety compliance with OSHA standards is essential, with opportunities for growth within a hard-working team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 3+ years of welding/fabrication experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of MIG, TIG and stick welding.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Layout/manufacturing of electric overhead bridge cranes
• Perform welding tasks on various materials, such as steel, aluminum, and other metals, using MIG, TIG and stick processes to meet quality standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications to fabricate parts and assemblies.
• Assemble fabricated components into final products, ensuring integrity and alignment.
• Inspect and test welds and finished products for safety and quality.
• Perform routine maintenance on fabrication equipment and tools.
• Follow all safety protocols and OSHA regulations in shop or on-site.
• Troubleshoot fabrication issues to maintain workflow.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Layout/manufacturing of electric overhead bridge cranes
• Perform welding tasks on various materials, such as steel, aluminum, and other metals, using various welding processes (GMAW, SAW, FCAW,) to meet precise quality standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to fabricate custom parts and assemblies for overhead cranes, lifting equipment, and other industrial applications.
• Assemble fabricated components into final products, ensuring structural integrity and alignment.
• Inspect and test welds and finished products to ensure adherence to safety standards, specifications, and quality control requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fabrication equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.
• Follow all safety protocols and OSHA regulations while working in a fabrication shop or on-site to ensure a safe work environment.
• Troubleshoot fabrication issues and identify solutions to maintain workflow and quality.

Requirements

Education & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints for layout, cut, and various metal shapes and sizes
• 3+ years of experience as a welder and fabricator in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques and metalworking processes, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to follow OSHA guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and quality assurance practices.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.
