Salary Range: $27-30/hr

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and understand schematics and blueprints
  • Work closely with designers and engineers in product development
  • Assemble parts using hand tools, welding equipment, and machines
  • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions
  • Weld a variety of materials (aluminum, steel, etc.) using MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques, according to accepted practices, selecting tools and equipment based on job specifications
  • Fabricate new parts or repair existing parts for trucks, trailers, generators, shop equipment, or facilities
  • Maintain welding and fabrication supplies, informing the manager of needed supplies
  • Perform general maintenance on welding equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two to three years of fabrication experience
  • Two to five years of welding experience; certification preferred for five to ten years of experience

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Moderate to loud noise levels typical of a warehouse/shop environment
  • Prolonged standing, walking, lifting, bending, reaching, kneeling, etc.
  • Use of hands for handling, feeling; talking; seeing; hearing; including close vision and peripheral vision
  • Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust machine controls to exact positions
  • Proper lifting techniques required; ability to lift up to 100 pounds
  • May require working evenings, weekends, and outdoors
