Job description

The DEC Technician is responsible for the installation, adjustment, and maintenance of all types of detention-related equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Install and maintain equipment including, but not limited to, cylindrical, mortise, and rim locks, motor and manually driven detention equipment, detention locks, slider service and maintenance.
  2. Install and maintain frames, doors, hardware, locks, sliders, furniture, and door closers.
  3. Install wire mesh, security ceilings, and wall panels.
  4. Install glazing and caulking.
  5. Plan, install, service, and test mechanical and electronic locking systems.
  6. Make emergency repairs to detention and security locking systems.
  7. Layout detention equipment for proper locations from construction documents and shop drawings.
  8. Handle and distribute construction materials including doors, frames, glass, hardware, steel furniture, and steel assemblies.
  9. Troubleshoot hardware and mechanical problems associated with detention.
  10. Be available for on-call assignments.
  11. All other related duties as assigned or required by Service Manager and/or Coordinator.
  12. Open, repair, and change the combination of all types of locking devices and make keys for the same.
  13. Repair and maintain all types of doors, door closers, exit devices, panic hardware, and related hardware.
  14. Operate manual key coding/cutting machine.
  15. Log keys that are issued and returned.
  16. Assist with building maintenance tasks, such as plumbing, electrical, or other essential building functions.
  17. Lift up to 50 lbs.
  18. Communicate regularly and effectively as appropriate.
  19. Maintain the standards, culture, and values of CML Security.
  20. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  1. High school diploma or GED required.
  2. 3 years of related experience preferred.
  3. Welding experience preferred.

Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screen.

Pay Range: $25 to $30 Hourly.
