Job summary

CSFCO is seeking Welder/Fabricator Level 1-3 to perform entry-level to experienced fabrication tasks under direct supervision. The role emphasizes safety, basic blueprint reading, and layout, with opportunities in pipe welding and orbital/TIG/SMAW processes.

Qualifications

Day Shift: 6AM-4:30PM

Job Summary

The Welder/Fabricator Level 1-3 performs entry-level -to experienced fabrication tasks under direct supervision. This role focuses on safety, basic blueprint reading, measuring and layout, material preparation, and assisting with fit-up operations in accordance with NCCER-aligned craft standards and CSFCO procedures.

We are currently looking for all levels of Fabricators including those with pipe experience.

Must be willing to help with all things in the Fabricator shop, unloading material, sweeping, etc.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality welding on various pipe materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, and exotic alloys.
• Interpret complex blueprints, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
• Set up andoperateadvanced welding equipment for orbital, TIG, and submerged arc welding.
• Conduct and pass visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections.
• Maintain detailed weld logs and documentation.
• Follow all CSFCO safety policies and job hazard analyses. Assist with material staging, handling, and housekeeping. Perform basic measuring, marking, and layout.
• Assist with cutting, grinding, beveling, and edge preparation.
  
• Support fit-up activities including clamping and alignment. Report drawing discrepancies or safety concerns to supervision.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Basic tape measure reading (to 1/16”).
• Understanding of basic blueprint components.
• Knowledge of common steel shapes and materials.
• Safe use of hand and power tools.
• Understanding of basic fabrication math and measurements.
• Mastery of SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and other advanced welding techniques.
• Deep understanding of pipe welding codes and standards (e.g., ASME, AWS).
• Ability to read complex fabrication drawings and schematics.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards (NCCER Core principles).
• Must be able to read and communicate in English to understand technical documents, safety procedures, and instructions relevant to job duties. English proficiency is required due to operational and safety communication needs.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 2-10+ years of fabrication or related industrial experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50-100 lbs.
• Ability to stand, kneel, climb, and work in industrial environments.
• Ability to work in hot, cold, or noisy conditions.
• Must be able to wear required PPE.
