Qualifications

  • High school degree preferred but not required.
  • At least 1 year welding/fabricating experience outside school.
  • Must have torch experience to cut bobbins.
  • Must have aluminum experience.
  • Completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is required.
  • Professional certification (AWS) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and measurements to plan layout and procedures.
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications.
  • Operate welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead).
  • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures for flaws.

Now Hiring DAY SHIFT WELDER’s with Fabrication & ALUMINUM experience, to work at a fast paced Cable Manufacturing Company in Milton, FL.

We are looking for a skilled WELDER to cut and join metals (and other materials) at our facilities and/or at our construction sites. We are seeking someone who also has experience working with ALUMINUM, and who preferably also has FABRICATION experience. You will operate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision. Your job is important as it provides the foundation for strong infrastructure.

A welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal (especially ALUMINUM) and their properties is essential.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
  • Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
  • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school Degree (or equivalent) is preferred but NOT required.
  • At least 1 full year of Welding AND Fabricating experience (NOT including time in school)
REQUIREMENTS
  • MUST have TORCH experience in order cut bobbins.
  • MUST have ALUMINUM experience.
  • Proven experience as welder/fabricator with at least 1 full year of welding/fabricating experience (OUTSIDE of a school setting).
  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MIG, MMA etc.).
  • Experienced in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards AND the willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.).
  • Comfortable working in both HOT and physically demanding environments.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, or bend for extended periods of time.
  • STRONG "Attention to detail".
  • Proficient in English (extremely beneficial if you ALSO speak Spanish).
  • Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is required.
  • Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) is preferred but NOT required.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must complete a pre-employment background check (having something on your record does NOT eliminate you from this position, we take everything on an individual "case-by-case" basis)
  • MUST be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • MUST have STEEL-TOED boots/shoes.
  • MUST have reliable transportation to Milton FL.
PAY

Starts at: $22+/hr.--- Depending on Level of Experience (with the opportunity to increase over-time) ***All hours worked OVER 40 hours WILL be paid at "TIME-AND-A-HALF"***

SCHEDULE

Full-Time ---All shifts are 12-hr's Day Shift = 7:30am - 7:30pm ***Expect to work 60+ hours a week***
