Job summary

Prysmian Group in McKinney, TX is seeking a Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The role involves positioning, aligning, fitting and welding parts into sub units or complete units using jig fixtures, hand tools and welding torches, while following safety protocols.

You will read blueprints, study engineering drawings, and interpret specifications to ensure precise construction, modification and assembly.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Prefer industrial or manufacturing experience with machines and components
  • Knowledge of properties and characteristics of metals used for cutting, welding and forming
  • Ability to climb in overhead structures and work beneath machines in close quarters
  • Exposure to high voltage electricity and excessive heat
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle heavy objects

Responsibilities

  • Position, align, fit, and weld parts for sub units or complete units using jigs, hand tools, and welding torches.
  • Identify information by recognizing similarities or differences, categorizing, estimating, and detecting modifications.
  • Read measuring devices and perform basic arithmetic.
  • Locate and mark work piece cutting and bending lines for welding and machining.
  • Provide detailed instructions, drawings or documentation for construction, modification, maintenance, assembly or fabrication.
  • Study blueprints and engineering drawings to determine task sequences and requirements.
  • Work in accordance with safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
  • Experience in stick welding, oxygen/acetylene torch use along with MIG/TIG welding.
