Job description

Join to apply for the Welder Fabricator role at Southworth.

Southworth Products Inc., located in Manila, AR, has immediate openings for experienced Welder Fabricators – Weekdays (Mon-Thursday, 6am to 4:30pm shift).

Southworth is the world’s largest manufacturer of ergonomic material handling equipment designed to improve worker productivity and reduce injuries. Our products assist in lifting, positioning, handling pallets, working with parts in containers, and transporting loads in factories or warehouses.

Primary Functions

1. Read and understand blueprints (ANSI Y14.5), weld symbols, and bill of materials. Capable of working independently to produce custom products based on instructions.
2. Layout, position, fit, and weld components to assemble machinery according to blueprints and instructions. Ability to handle complex and unique projects.
3. Assemble electrical and hydraulic components, including basic switches, buttons, and hydraulics.
4. Proficiently operate various welding equipment (MIG, torch, grinder), following established procedures to ensure quality.
5. Conduct quality checks on welds and discern good from bad quality.
6. Cross-train in other areas as needed to meet customer requirements.
7. Participate in team projects related to safety, efficiency, and quality.
8. Maintain proper housekeeping, equipment care, and safe operating procedures.

Required Qualifications

1. Experience with MIG welding, plasma cutters, and cutting torches.
2. Ability to read blueprints, use a tape measure, and perform metal fabrication and basic electrical assembly.
3. Ability to plumb, flare, bend, and assemble hydraulic hoses and tubing.
4. 1-3 years’ experience in manufacturing.
5. Good judgment, dependability, and quality work.
6. Teamwork skills, trust, respect, communication, problem-solving.
7. Physical ability to bend, twist, reach, grasp, stand for long periods, and lift up to 50 pounds.
8. Basic knowledge of hand tools and pneumatic/electric power tools.
9. Willingness to complete assessments in tape measure reading, blueprint reading, and welding.
10. Preferred: D1.1 Certification.
