Job summary

Arcwood Environmental seeks a Welder/Fabricator to support its fleet and equipment through welding, fabrication, repairs and preventive maintenance in a fast-paced setting.

You will MIG weld steel and aluminum, fabricate and modify components, read work instructions, and maintain safe, organized working conditions while upholding Arcwood's safety standards and values.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Vocational training in welding technology, fabrication or related field (preferred).
• 6+ months of welding and fabrication experience (required).

Responsibilities

• Fabricates, repairs, and modifies equipment and structural components.
• Welds in various positions (flat, vertical, horizontal, overhead, downhill) as required.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
• Performs work in accordance with applicable safety requirements, permits, air monitoring protocols, and operating procedures
• Performs MIG welding on steel and aluminum components
• Fabricates, repairs, and modifies equipment, containers, and structural components to support operational needs
• Welds components in flat, vertical, horizontal, overhead, or downhill positions as required
• Reads and interprets work instructions, measurements, and specifications to complete fabrication projects accurately
• Inspects, diagnoses, cleans and repairs welding-related equipment and materials
• Repairs and maintains intermodal and roll-off containers, including replacement of tarps, seals, bows, and related components
• Dismantles, straightens, reshapes and rebuilds damaged equipment and support assets
• Performs preventive maintenance and general repairs on equipment and support assets
• Operates forklift and other material handling equipment to transport, position and install equipment and components
• Assists with facility maintenance and operational projects as needed
• Utilizes required personal protective equipment (PPE) and safeguards while conducting welding and fabrication tasks
• Maintains a clean, organized and safe working environment
• Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization

Welder/Fabricator

As a Welder/Fabricator you will be responsible for performing welding, fabrication, equipment repairs and maintenance activities that support Arcwood’s operational fleet and equipment. This role ensures equipment remains safe, functional, and compliant while delivering high-quality workmanship in a fast-paced environment.
