Job summary

Arcwood Environmental, LLC is seeking a Service Technician to handle, inspect, and prepare waste for incineration.

The role emphasizes health and safety, with duties including loading/unloading drums, processing hazardous waste, forklift operation, and container inspection. Working at our Wisconsin facility, you will support a skilled team and uphold strict environmental standards.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or equivalent is required.
• HAZWOPER certificate preferred.
• Firefighting experience preferred.
• Experience with hazardous waste materials is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle, inspect, and prepare waste for incineration.
• Prioritize health and safety by following policies and maintaining safe practices.
• Load and unload drums and containers safely.
• Process and store hazardous waste materials.
• Weigh and break down large containers into smaller ones.
• Sample and inspect containers upon receipt at the facility.
• Operate forklift and related equipment; use conveyors and computers.
• Transport/position trailers and tankers for slag and ash collection.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Take on additional duties as assigned to support the team.

Job description

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Service TechnicianAs a Service Technician you will be responsible for handling, inspecting, and preparing waste for the incineration process.

• Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and consistently maintaining safe practices
• Loads and/or unloads drums and containers from trucks in a safe and compliant manner
• Processes and/or stores hazardous waste materials
• Weighs and breaks down large containers to consolidate into smaller containers
• Samples and inspects all containers as they are received at the facility
• Drives forklift to retrieve drums and containers from storage; operates computer and conveyor
• Transports/positions trailers and tankers for collection of slag and ash
• Maintains a clean work area
• Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization

Education

• High-school diploma or equivalent (required)

Experience

• Previous forklift experience (preferred)
• Previous firefighting experience (preferred)
• HAZWOPER Certificate (preferred)
